Job Summary
The Roofing Superintendent is responsible for planning, organizing, overseeing and managing the daily progress and activities of multiple production roofing crews. This position works closely with a Project Manager to ensure that all of the required work gets completed as safely, efficiently and in the most cost effective manner as possible.
Responsibilities
- Communicate daily with the foremen and project manager to ensure production expectations are achievable and monitor progress on a daily basis
- Ensure that all roofing operations comply with our safety and health policies
- Attend project handoff meetings with all stakeholders to advise on labour requirements and project challenges
- Proactively determine equipment needs on site and coordinate their delivery
- Communicate material order and delivery times with all involved stakeholders
- Coordinate job site setup and project plan layout
- Identify any potential extras to the contract and inform the PM
- Communicate issues and delays to all stakeholders
- Ensure with each foreman that all deficiencies are being corrected on an ongoing basis
Desired Qualifications
- 7-10 Years of work experience in commercial flat roofing
- Advanced planning skills for establishing maximum productivity of workforce, materials, and equipment
- Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines
- Knowledge of safety compliance regulations and commitment to a safe work environment
- The ability to lead and motivate groups and individuals
- Analysis & problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and management skills
- Ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks to efficiently meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Must have strong communication, good organization, time management, multitasking and stress management skills
- Must be punctual and reliable with excellent work ethic
- Ability to pay strong attention to detail
- Form and maintain customer relations through email and on the phone
- Display strong knowledge of relevant computer applications (Microsoft Office)
