Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Bilingual Technical Writer to support a large government program within Canada. This role focuses on creating high-quality technical documentation and developing engaging video-based training content. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with experience translating complex technical processes into clear written and visual learning materials.
Responsibilities:
Technical Documentation & Content Development (35%)
• Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation for internal systems, tools, and processes.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content.
• Ensure documentation accuracy, consistency, and compliance with standards.
Training Video Development (25%)
• Create engaging video training capsules for onboarding and internal learning.
• Edit and enhance video content using professional video editing tools.
• Partner with subject matter experts to ensure training accuracy and effectiveness.
Stakeholder Collaboration (20%)
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements.
• Incorporate feedback and continuously improve documentation and training materials.
• Support knowledge transfer across teams.
Quality Assurance & Content Governance (10%)
• Maintain version control and documentation standards.
• Review existing materials for quality, relevance, and usability.
Process Improvement & Knowledge Enablement (10%)
• Contribute to process optimization through improved documentation practices.
• Support continuous learning initiatives and digital knowledge repositories.
Qualifications:
• Experience: Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in technical writing, instructional design, or content development in enterprise or government environments.
• Bilingual: French & English.
• Technical Writing: Proven ability to create structured technical and training documentation.
• Video Content Creation: Hands-on experience using video editing software for training content.
• Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Work Authorization: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Security Clearance: Canadian Reliability or Secret Clearance required.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Technical Writing, Instructional Design, or a related field preferred.
