What you will be doing…
We’re looking for a Bilingual Employee and Labour Relations Advisor to guide managers and employees through complex workplace matters with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment.
As a key member of our Employee and Labour Relations (ERLR) team, you’ll help ensure that our policies, collective agreements, and legislation are applied consistently and fairly across the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Advise managers and employees on HR policies, collective agreements, and employment legislation (ESA, Human Rights Code, WSIB / CSPAAT)
- Support performance management and disciplinary actions to ensure decisions are fair, consistent, and compliant
- Lead and support workplace investigations (harassment, sexual harassment, violence, or other sensitive cases)
- Assist in the preparation of grievances, arbitration files, and bargaining documentation
- Collaborate with union representatives to resolve issues early and maintain constructive relationships
- Coordinate medical accommodations, return-to-work, and attendance management processes
- Respond to inquiries from the Human Rights Tribunal, Ministry of Labour, and other agencies
- Maintain case documentation, prepare reports, and support process improvements within the HR department
You’re a good fit if…
- You bring sound judgment, discretion, and tact to sensitive HR and employee relations matters
- You’re skilled in investigations, conflict resolution, and labour relations in unionized and non-unionized environments
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and French
- You enjoy helping leaders and employees navigate challenging conversations and build better workplaces
Your must-haves:
- Bilingualism (French/English) is required
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field is preferred; a combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered
- CHRP/CRHA designation is preferred
- Minimum 3 years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on employee and labour relations.
- Knowledge of employment and labour legislation (e.g., Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, WSIB)
- Experience in policy interpretation, case management, and providing HR advice
- Secret level Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain)
