Responsibilities:
- Update and manage employee information, such as set up new hire accounts, tracking attendance, leave and overtime, to calculate pay and benefits entitlements in Canadian and US currencies.
- Manage and process employee compensation, including base salaries, incentive-based earnings (such as commissions and sales bonuses), quarterly performance bonuses, paid leave, and other forms of compensation
- Review and validate payroll system data to ensure the accurate application of earnings, deductions (such as taxes, insurance, and garnishments), and adjustments, confirming final pay amounts before issuing employee payments.
- Coordinate, review, and process documentation for employee benefit programs such as pension plans, leave entitlements, medical insurance, and share savings.
- Oversee and manage internal and external payroll audits, ensuring full compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.
- Collect payroll travel receipts, calculate and reconcile travel related taxable versus non-taxable income.
- Compile and submit payroll-related reports and statutory tax documents, such as Records of Employment, pension plans, and year-end filings, ensuring timely reporting, accuracy, and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Reconcile and finalize payroll-related reports at the end of each pay period, ensuring data consistency and addressing discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Implement and improve payroll policies, procedures, and processes to streamline payroll operations and ensure compliance with all legal and company standard.
Skills/Requirements:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with accounting software is an asset.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in payroll administration, including Canadian and US payroll.
- Advanced proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Ceridian, Workday) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure compliance.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Language requirements: English
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
