Electrical Project Manager
The Electrical Project Manager manages project portfolios, client relationships, and provides technical oversight for Electrical Building Systems engineering for Commercial Buildings. Responsibilities include senior-level electrical engineering, fee proposals, budgeting, team coordination, site review, among other responsibilities.
The firm is a US-based, international consulting firm. This is a large, corporate environment where the engineer works with stakeholders across the organization to coordinate and complete projects. This role works with their internal consulting team on multidiscipline buildings engineering projects across Canada.
This role is hybrid 3x weekly out of the company's Markham office.
Salary: $115 000 to $135 000
Logistics: Hybrid
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Responsible for managing multiple electrical design projects, including 1) overall project scope and deliverables, 2) CAD deliverables, and 3) project budgets and financials.
- Manage project portfolios and client relationships for electrical systems engineering in commercial buildings. Including both new construction, retrofit, and tenant projects.
- Feasibility research and design of building electrical systems: power distribution, utilities connections, lighting, controls, emergency power, life-safety systems, and fire alarms, renewable power generation and storage.
- Work with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and architects to develop detailed designs.
- Electrical design to support tenant and mechanical system upgrades.
- From project initiation to completion, support the team by providing equipment selections, cost and timing, estimates, reports, design specifications and drawings for building electrical systems.
Here's what you'll need:
- Eligible for license with PEO (P.Eng).
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in engineering with Electrical Engineering focus.
- 7+ years relevant working experience in electrical building systems engineering including lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, and associated systems.
- Commercial and Institutional building design experience considered an asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Revit, and AutoCAD.
- Extensive project track record using relevant Electrical Codes and Provincial Building Codes.
