About the Project
Pape Tunnel Underground Stations (PTUS), a vital segment of the Ontario Line, enhances connectivity, reduces congestion, and supports sustainable growth in Toronto. Webuild, in joint venture, leads this project—constructing 3.2 km of tunnel using advanced technology and two underground stations designed for future capacity, safety, accessibility, and seamless integration with Toronto’s transit network. About the Job
We are hiring a Quantity Surveyor Manager to join our Cost Control Team on the Pape North Connect project. This position reports to the Cost Control Lead
What You Will Be Doing?
- Lead the quantity surveying team on the PTUS/Webuild project, ensuring consistent and accurate reporting of costs, budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Manage all aspects of cost planning, estimation, and control across project phases, from pre-contract to final account.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of monthly valuations, variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Administer contracts in accordance with project agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and risk management processes.
- Support the procurement strategy and lead commercial evaluations of subcontractor/supplier tenders.
- Interface with project controls, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment on cost and contract strategies.
- Maintain an up-to-date cost database and track project expenditures against budget and forecast.
- Prepare and present detailed commercial reports and dashboards to senior project and client stakeholders.
- Manage contractual disputes and support claim resolution processes.
- Ensure adherence to internal governance, auditing, and reporting protocols.
What We Are Looking For?
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Professional membership with RICS, CIQS, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role on large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects.
- Proven experience working on international projects or for major contractors such as Webuild or joint ventures.
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, or bespoke forms).
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficient in cost management software (e.g., Candy, CostX, or similar) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong leadership capabilities and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
