The FLYHT Aircraft Certification Engineering (ACE) team is looking to add a Project Engineer or Technologist to our Calgary based team providing engineering services for the integration of aeronautical products into various aircraft types. You will have the opportunity to work on designs and substantiations, prepare engineering data including reports and drawings, conduct airworthiness testing, and provide technical liaison both at home and abroad. You will also be working closely with the R&D and Quality Assurance departments in the design, testing and roll out of our products.

We’re looking for
(not all required)- Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma, preferably in Aircraft Structures, Aeronautical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
- 2 to 3 years aviation-related design experience (New Graduates are welcome to apply!)
- Strong understanding of strength of materials, aircraft structures design and analysis
- Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of Transport Canada (TCCA), FAA, and EASA regulations
- Modification design experience (structural, mechanical system, interior, etc.) on fixed wing or rotary aircraft
- Solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing in manufacturing drawings
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal & written)
- Must hold or be able to obtain a valid passport (occasional travel required)
Assets
(not required but would be looked at as differentiators)- Experience with FAR 25 or equivalent regulations
- Experience on commercial aircraft
- Familiarity with design change certification
- CSWA / CSWP certification
- Experience with DTA for pressurized skin penetrations
- Experience with aircraft structural repairs
- Basic understanding of aircraft systems
What you’ll be doing
(condensed)- Creating and checking engineering documents and drawings including installation, assembly, cable harness, structural substantiation, DTA reports, and ICA documentation
- Troubleshooting technical issues and developing effective solutions
- Advising and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders including delegates, airworthiness authorities, and auditors
- Providing customer and installation support both on-site and remotely, occasionally outside office hours
