About the Opportunity
Our leading retail client is seeking a Category Business Manager to join their team. In this role, you’ll lead the strategic direction and lifecycle management of Starters & Alternators, Exhaust, and Steering & Suspension categories, ensuring customers across Canada have access to reliable, high-quality automotive products. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, from Supply Chain and Forecasting to Marketing and Quality Assurance, creating impact that goes beyond the product shelf.

Your Responsibilities
- You’ll lead the development and execution of long-term strategies for core automotive categories, leveraging market trends, competitive insights, and customer feedback.
- In this role, you’ll oversee product lifecycle planning, including new introductions, SKU rationalization, pricing, and assortment strategies.
- You’ll manage vendor relationships, negotiating terms, monitoring performance, and driving joint business planning initiatives.
- You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to ensure product availability, digital accuracy, and compelling category positioning.
- You’ll take ownership of the category P&L, using analytics and forecasting to optimize inventory, margin, and promotional ROI.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of category management, merchandising, or product management experience, preferably in the automotive sector.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems, parts cataloguing standards (ACES/PIES), and application-specific data.
- Proven negotiation, vendor management, and financial analysis capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, or related field; technical or automotive certifications are an asset.
