A global aerospace manufacturer located in Mississauga, Ontario is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join their leadership team. The company designs and produces complex aerospace systems and assemblies for major aircraft, engine, defence, and space programs worldwide.
The Role
The selected candidate will be the primary leader responsible for ensuring product and process quality across the facility. They will oversee audits, drive corrective actions, support supplier quality functions, and develop quality performance metrics to enhance operational reliability.
This position works closely with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure that risks are identified, mitigated, and monitored to maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and product integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure ongoing compliance with the company’s Quality Management System, customer requirements, regulatory standards, and corporate procedures.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective action activities using industry best practices and structured problem-solving tools.
- Manage internal and external audits, including planning, facilitation, corrective action tracking, and follow-up.
- Oversee supplier quality performance, including approvals, audits, training, and issue escalation as required.
- Establish and monitor quality metrics, supporting process owners and leading management review activities to assess and mitigate QMS risks.
Qualifications
- Technologist or Engineering degree with 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or engineering; aerospace training is an asset.
- Minimum 3 years in quality engineering, quality assurance, or quality system administration.
- Strong knowledge of ISO/AS quality requirements, auditing practices, and aerospace industry standards.
- Demonstrated proficiency in root cause analysis, corrective action development, and statistical tools such as Six Sigma, FPY, and 5 Whys.
- Excellent communication, organizational, training, and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and influence cross-functional teams.
