We are hiring a Mechatronics Engineer to dynamic engineering team. This role is to design, integrate, and maintain advanced automation and electromechanical systems that support the efficient, reliable, and high-quality production of Adamson’s professional audio products. This role ensures that manufacturing equipment, processes, and automated systems operate at peak performance, enabling continuous production flow, minimizing downtime, and driving innovation in how products are built. By combining expertise in mechanical, electrical, and control systems, the Mechatronics Engineer enhances operational efficiency, supports new product introduction, and contributes directly to Adamson’s commitment to precision engineering, product excellence, and manufacturing innovation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Automation, Controls & System Integration
- Design, program, troubleshoot, and optimize automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, servos, VFDs, and robotics.
- Integrate new production equipment, tools, and automation solutions into Adamson’s manufacturing environment.
- Develop electrical and control system schematics, user interfaces, and documentation.
- Conduct testing, validation, and commissioning of new equipment and processes.
- Collaborate closely with Product Engineering, Production, and R&D on new product introduction (NPI) requirements.
2. Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
- Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for automated machinery, CNC systems, assembly line equipment, and electromechanical tools.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Analyze downtime trends and equipment performance to implement reliability and safety improvements.
- Support maintenance technicians by providing technical guidance, training, and escalation support.
3. Process Improvement & Manufacturing Support
- Identify and implement opportunities to reduce downtime, improve workflow, and enhance production throughput.
- Work cross-functionally to streamline manufacturing processes, workstation design, and ergonomic improvements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Support the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
4. Compliance, Documentation & Safety
- Ensure all automation and electrical designs comply with ESA, CSA, OHSA, and internal quality standards.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and maintenance records.
- Champion safe work practices and support hazard assessments, lockout/tagout procedures, and risk mitigation activities.
5. Other responsibilities assigned from time to time.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or equipment maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with PLC/HMI programming (Beckhoff, Allen Bradely).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, pneumatics, hydraulics, and instrumentation.
- Experience with robotics, CNC machinery, servo systems, and automated assembly equipment is an asset.
- Ability to read and design electrical schematics (AutoCAD Electrical or similar).
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
