Role Overview
In this developmental leadership role, you will guide a small team of Product and Design Engineers while gaining hands-on experience managing projects, improving processes, and influencing technical direction. You will play a key part in ensuring engineering deliverables meet quality, timeline, and customer expectations—while contributing to continuous improvement and future innovation. This position is well-suited to someone who has demonstrated leadership potential and wants to transition into a full management role with mentorship and support.
Key Responsibilities - Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to the Applications, Product, and Design Engineering teams.
- Contribute to improving engineering processes, systems, and workflows to strengthen efficiency and product quality.
- Act as a technical resource for internal teams and customers, helping resolve engineering challenges and clarify requirements.
- Support the development of project plans, technical requirements, and design documentation.
- Assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and cross-functional coordination.
- Participate in product design reviews, documentation control, and configuration management.
- Provide input during the quotation and cost-estimation process.
- Support resource planning, workload distribution, and engineering metrics tracking.
- Lead small initiatives and continuous improvement projects that enhance team performance.
Qualifications & Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- P.Eng. designation required.
- 7–10 years of progressive engineering experience in design, development, or product engineering.
- Previous experience mentoring junior engineers, leading small teams, or acting as a technical lead.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- An interest in developing leadership capability and taking on broader management responsibilities.
