Principal Engineer, AI - Toronto (Hybrid: 3 days/week onsite)
Help shape how AI powers trusted legal research and editorial intelligence. We’re hiring a Principal Engineer, AI for one our clients, to architect reliable, explainable agentic and generative AI systems used by legal professionals worldwide.
What you'll be doing:
- Build AI capabilities trusted for high-stakes professional decisions
- Drive GenAI and agentic system strategy across key business workflows
- Own technical direction and deliver impactful outcomes fast
- Mentor and elevate a global engineering organisation
- Design and scale AI-native features with LLMs, RAG and agent frameworks
- Integrate GenAI into editorial applications legal editors rely on
- Translate complex requirements into actionable architecture
What you bring:
- 10+ years building scalable backend/full-stack systems
- Experience with GenAI concepts such as Agentic systems, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and fine-tuning
- Hands-on experience delivering LLM-powered products
- Strong cloud, DevOps + MLOps for AI systems
