Our client is a well established construction firm in the west GTA that has a diverse ICI portfolio. They are know for their strong reputation for delivering projects on time, on budget, and to the highest standards, they are expanding their team to manage a commercial interior and new build projects.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of a new interior projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully delivering commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Budget & Cost Management:
- Prepare, manage, and track project budgets.
- Approve invoices, change orders, and monitor cost controls to avoid overruns.
- Team & Stakeholder Coordination:
- Lead cross-functional teams including site supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Permitting & Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all necessary permits and inspections are obtained and passed.
- Maintain compliance with local building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Quality Assurance & Risk Management:
- Monitor construction activities to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to plans and specs.
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Progress Reporting:
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, issues, and performance metrics.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience managing ICI construction projects, preferably interior projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and budgeting tools.
- Strong understanding of local building codes, safety regulations, and permitting processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- PMP or similar project management certification is an asset.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with LEED or other sustainable building practices.
- Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend).
