Your Key Responsibilities:
- Providing contractor and construction supervision and contract interpretation.
- Performing asphalt concrete testing on construction projects.
- Performing RTK GPS surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking as required on projects.
- Conducting field and lab material testing (aggregate, soils) with an emphasis on accuracy and timely submission of results.
- Performing project management duties which includes communicating with client project managers and contractors’ staff regarding the contract requirements.
- Drafting reports and providing interpretation of contract documents and test results.
- Knowledge of Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways Construction practices is considered an asset.
- Performing financial reporting as required by senior managers and clients.
- Contributing to a positive safety culture.
- Provide input and guidance to our design teams with preparation of alterations, revisions, and tender packages.
- Other tasks as required.
About You
To fill the role, we’re looking for an applicant to bring forward a good mix of qualifications and previous experience. Some highlights could include:
- Diploma in civil engineering from a recognized post-secondary college.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Ability to lead and manage small teams.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently, and within tight timelines.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to lift or move 50lbs, stand for extended periods, walk over rough terrain, and perform repetitive movements.
- 1-2 years of experience working in the Saskatchewan Heavy Construction industry or transportation engineering would be considered an asset (including summer season work) but is not required. We hope to train and mentor the right individual to continue growing our expanding team.
