Location: Oshawa (Hybrid)
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and assessment, structural design, and ageing management.
- Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete and masonry and prepare design documents and compile engineering packages.
- Analyze structural systems and elements as required using Analysis Software programs using for example SAP2000, STAAD Pro and other structural programs.
- Ensure Compliance with applicable Codes, Standards and Regulations, and ensuring the adequacy of design for permits and compliance with approved plans.
- Accountable for the delivering all engineering deliverables/task to achieve project objectives within specified timelines and budgets.
- Provide technical instructions to Junior staff or designers to develop engineering documentation.
- Review and comment on the work performed by the others to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and design documentation.
- Check the work performed meets the quality requirements in accordance with Company QA programs and manuals.
- Participate in formal engineering design and other reviews as may be mandated for the design changes in question.
- Prepare Engineering estimate and technical write-up for proposals.
- Perform plant walkdowns as and if required in support of design requirements definition and detailed engineering of design modifications.
Requirement:
- 10+ years of structural engineering experience
- Experience with Large scale building with steel and concrete
- Nice to have: Nuclear background
- Tools / software / methodology / certification: StaadPro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE
- OPG clearance would be preferred
