A leading global manufacturer is hiring a strategic Global Data Manager to spearhead enterprise-wide initiatives in data governance, quality, and ERP data conversion. This high-impact role ensures the integrity, accessibility, and security of organizational data while driving compliance and modernization across systems.
Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Governance
- Lead the development and implementation of data governance, data quality, and compliance frameworks.
- Oversee metadata and master data management to ensure consistency across systems.
- Collaborate on global master data standards and MDM workflow processes.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
Data Quality & Conversion
- Design and optimize data quality processes and KPIs; monitor trends and identify improvement opportunities.
- Partner with business units to resolve data quality challenges and implement corrective actions.
- Lead data mapping, cleansing, normalization, and conversion from legacy systems to ERP platforms.
- Manage recurring exception reports and initiate data clean-up efforts.
People Leadership
- Build and lead a global team of Data Governance and Data Quality Analysts.
- Define team goals, performance targets, and training plans.
- Support recruitment and onboarding for future data roles.
Technical Execution
- Prepare master and transactional data load files; input changes directly into ERP systems.
- Conduct cross-referencing and duplication checks.
- Leverage system knowledge to improve operational efficiencies.
Qualifications
- 15+ years in IT with a focus on data management, governance, and quality.
- 5+ years in people management.
- Strong experience with database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server), data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau), and MDM software (preferably Informatica IDQ).
- Proficient in data cataloging tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica Axon).
- Skilled in ERP systems (JDE, SAP, Business Central, Dynamics 365).
- Background in manufacturing or building materials is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
