Description:
KBE Engineer - Knowledge Based Engineer (KBE).
Responsibilities include:
• Creating CAD (Catia/NX) parametric math models for BIW upperbody components/subassemblies using
• Knowledge Based Engineering template modeling techniques.
• Position requires extensive knowledge of Teamcenter and NX modeling and an extensive background developing, packaging, and releasing BIW components and subassemblies.
• Additional responsibilities managing internal and external suppliers, supporting pre-production and launch activities at vehicle assembly plants (US, Mexico, CA), creating and maintaining CBOM and quadris, benchmarking, and other responsibilities as required for the role/program.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent bachelor’s degree with experience.
· 2+ Years of CAD modeling with Siemens NX
· 2+ Years of Robust Modeling with Siemens NX
· 2+ Years of Parametric CAD Modeling with Siemens NX
· 2+ Years of Body in White (Automotive) Engineering Experience
· Strong English Speaking skills, including technical language
· Strong Engineering Design Project Presentation skills required
· Remote Work with ability to travel to supplier sites as required
· Proof of Covid Vaccination will be required
Preferred Requirements:
· 5+ Years of Body in White and/or Closures CAD Engineering experience.
· 5+ years of body experience
· 5+ Years of CAD Parametric Modeling with Seimens NX
Additional Information / Must have's:
1. In-plant body shop experience
2. Vehicle launch experience
3. Sheet metal (BIW upperbody/underbody or closures) design and release experience (KBE trained)
o Onsite/ Remote Hybrid - Mainly remote; would need to come to CTC (Auburn Hills, MI) for only when in-person attendance is required for training
. 20%, but it would be less if they live in CAN and support vehicles at one of our CAN plants.
Does this position require driving a vehicle?: No, should not require driving vehicles
% of travel: 20% travel to vehicle assembly plants (US, MX, or CAN depending on the program) and occasional travel to CTC (Auburn Hills, MI)
