Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Mechanics, Avionics, Structures with Dash 8 Experience
Position Profile
We are currently recruiting for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers with Q400 and/or Twin Otter type courses (preferred).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Accurately interpret manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, engineering orders, test documents and manufacturer’s installation manuals
- Repair and fabricate parts as per drawings and standard practices.
- Have a basic understanding of other aircraft systems.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanics, structures and avionics systems.
- Perform system checks and inspections.
- Keep accurate records of all work performed and maintain inventory of tools and equipment
- Maintain a clean work area and alert the leadership team of any safety concerns; take immediate action or report immediately any unsafe conditions
- Responsible for ensuring both accuracy and traceability of parts removed or installed on Aircraft
- Perform other work as assigned and willing to work shift work
- Safely operate ground support equipment, i.e., power carts, lifts (when properly trained), etc. as required
Education & Experience
- 5+ years’ experience working on the Dash 8 preferred
- TC AME license preferred
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Internet
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Possess the knowledge expected of an Aircraft Mechanic, Structures Technician or Avionics Technician on aircraft types handled by the Company.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work 6 days per week
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to acquire a Transport Canada issued Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
