DIRECTOR OF CONSTRUCTION

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Pacific Reach Properties Development (PRPD) is seeking an experienced Director of Construction to oversee our construction team with offices in Langley and downtown Vancouver, BC. PRPD is an owner/investor with a portfolio of office, multi-family, and hotel properties. The team acts as general contractor for much of the portfolio renovation and development in the Lower Mainland, and oversees contractors and trades as an Owner’s Rep where 3rd party general contractors are utilized. The successful candidate will manage a team that includes project managers/ site supers, office manager, estimators, and an interior designer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following is a list of the key responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and monitor construction of a portfolio of projects and strive to maximize value, ensure smooth project management, run effective tenders, prepare and meet schedules, be laser focused on budget, and deliver on quality.
- Review proposed project plans and specifications and comment on the building design.
- Lead annual performance assessments for each team member.
- Manage the day / day administration of the Langley office with the office manager.
- Develop system and processes to effectively manage the construction process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 Years of successful experience in construction at a senior level.
- Experience must include budgeting, scheduling, estimation, and project management
- College or university degree in a construction related field including project management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, and Excel. Excellent organizational, presentation skills.
- Ability to travel and work out of the Langley and Downtown Vancouver office as required.
