Our client is a major Canadian owned transportation and logistics company. This organization is one of the country’s largest logistics services providers, renowned for its industry leadership, extensive facilities, and a collaborative, innovative workforce. To fuel their continued growth they are searching for a dynamic Regional Business Development Manager - Warehousing + Distribution . Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development, this role focuses on cultivating new business relationships, nurturing existing accounts, and delivering tailored warehousing solutions to meet evolving client needs in a competitive logistics landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead new client acquisition efforts for this developing service offering within the organization
- Conduct market research, networking, and targeted outreach (including cold calling) to identify and qualify leads within the warehousing, 3PL, and contract logistics sectors, building a robust sales pipeline
- Deliver compelling sales presentations and customized proposals that highlight warehousing features, benefits, and value propositions aligned with client-specific requirements, such as inventory management, order fulfillment, and distribution optimization
- Negotiate contracts, close deals, and achieve/exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets while fostering long-term customer partnerships through proactive relationship management
- Collaborate with operations, customer service, and logistics teams to ensure seamless service delivery, including monitoring industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes in warehousing and supply chain management
- Occasional travel to customer sites as needed to support client engagements
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven B2B sales track record in warehousing, contract logistics, 3PL, or related
- Strong understanding of logistics operations, including inbound/outbound processes, inventory control, and customer-centric solutions
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex solutions and build trust in fast-paced environments
- Self-motivated, results-oriented professional who thrives independently and collaboratively, with proficiency in CRM tools, sales analytics, and pipeline management
Education & Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with warehousing technologies (e.g., WMS systems) and GTA-specific logistics challenges, such as cross-border compliance and e-commerce fulfillment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce or similar CRM, and data-driven sales strategies
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred
