Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and proactive individual to assist in performing rebuild and retrofit tasks, as well as general assembly duties. This role requires working under the supervision of a qualified technician and contributing to various functional areas as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform rebuild and retrofit tasks under the supervision of a qualified technician.
- Clean vehicles and parts as directed.
- Assist technicians in various functional areas as required.
- Prepare vehicles for interior and exterior painting by scuffing surfaces, employing proper masking techniques, and removing rust.
- Understand and apply company safety policies and relevant Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Report any accidents, incidents, near misses, and injuries.
- Follow company medical and first aid procedures.
- Use safe work procedures at all times.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in mechanics, repair, and retrofit.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading.
- Strong communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Experience working with teams or customers in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with cranes, hand tools, and fork trucks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma required.
- Ability to work swing shifts (day/afternoon).
- Capability to work in confined spaces and perform physical tasks such as lifting and climbing.
- Must meet anthropometrical size restrictions for confined spaces.

Work Environment
Work primarily takes place on a manufacturing/shop floor with some office duties. The environment includes heavy machinery such as fork trucks and cranes, with exposure to noise, dust, paint, and temperature fluctuations. The role requires medium supervision, minimal to medium work interruptions, and involves physical tasks.
