Plank is hiring a part time (16 hours a week) People & Operations Specialist who is passionate about supporting a team, improving internal processes, and ensuring our company operates smoothly. The Role:
Were looking for a People & Operations Specialist to help streamline HR and operational processes, support team members, and contribute to making Plank an efficient and rewarding place to work.
This is a part-time role, with an anticipated 16 hours of work per week on a flexible schedule. Even though this is part-time, were looking for someone to join us long-term and become an important and valued member of the team. Over time, this role could grow to include more hours. Any change like that would be discussed openly and agreed on together.
Youll play a key role in HR and administrative functions, including onboarding, benefits management, policy updates, recruiting support, and company-wide initiatives. Youll also help maintain operational tools and processes that support both our internal team and external stakeholders.
This role is perfect for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and proactivesomeone who loves keeping things running smoothly and ensuring a positive workplace experience for all. A clear understanding of what digital agencies do, web development, and workplaces that function primarily online is important.

What youll be working on:
- HR-related inquiries and administrative tasks.
- Onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Company wellness and benefits programs.
- Assisting with compensation, benefits documentation, and management.
- Company-wide operational systems, including HRIS tools.
- Ensuring digital and electronic employee records are well-maintained.
- Team evaluations, performance check-ins, and feedback processes.
- Supporting training, goal planning, and continuing education programs.
- Helping with recruiting, job descriptions, and hiring processes.
- Managing software and hardware assets, including office expenses.
- Government regulations and company compliance.
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
Skills were looking for:
- A strong understanding of HR and operations best practices.
- Conversational and business operational French is a plus.
- Familiarity with Federal and Provincial employment laws.
- Experience working with HRIS systems and contract workflows.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills.
- Understanding the types of roles in the Web Development industry
- Proficiency in Google Suite.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with care.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to continuously learn.
Bonus points for:
- HR related certifications
- Digital agency experience & some familiarity with technology terminology
- Experience with Slack & BambooHR (our ATS/HRIS)
- Bilingual in English & French
