Job Duties
As a Kitchen Helper at Black Sheep Pub, you will perform general kitchen support duties in accordance with the Job Bank lead statement for NOC 65201 Kitchen Helpers. Your responsibilities will include:
• Assist cooks and other kitchen staff in preparing food by washing, peeling, cutting, and preparing ingredients
• Clean and sanitize kitchen work surfaces, equipment, utensils, dishes, and cookware
• Load, operate, and unload dishwashing machines and manually wash pots, pans, and kitchen tools
• Remove kitchen garbage and recycling and ensure waste areas are kept clean and organized
• Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas in compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
• Perform other routine kitchen duties as directed to support efficient kitchen operations
Qualifications
• No formal education required.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
• No specific language requirement; the position involves routine, non-complex kitchen support duties and instructions can be demonstrated on the job.
• Previous experience in a food service or kitchen environment is an asset but not required.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow basic workplace instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
