ASTTBC Certified Fire Protection Technician

About the Role
We are seeking an ASTTBCCertified Fire Protection Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on fire and lifesafety systems in accordance with BC Fire Code, NFPA standards, and ASTTBC requirements.
Youll interact directly with customers, complete accurate reports, and ensure their properties remain safe and compliant.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections, testing, and maintenance of:
- Fire extinguishers
- Fire alarm systems
- Emergency lighting
- Sprinklers & suppression systems (depending on certification level)
- Complete detailed reports and deficiency notes in a timely manner
- Communicate professionally with clients and internal teams
- Diagnose system issues and perform repairs when required
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle
- Ensure all work complies with BC Fire Code, NFPA, and company standards
Requirements
- ASTTBC Fire Protection Technician Certification (Required)
- Preference given to those with one or more endorsements (FE, FA, EM, SI, SD, etc.)
- Valid Class 5 BC Drivers Licence with clean abstract
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Physical ability to lift, climb ladders, and work on various job sites
Preferred Experience
- 13 years in fire protection (not requiredwilling to train the right certified candidate)
- Familiarity with digital reporting systems
- Experience with fire alarm troubleshooting and repairs
