About the Role
The Driver Trainer plays a key role in supporting Titanium’s safety-first culture by providing hands-on training, coaching, and evaluation to newly hired AZ drivers and Owner Operators as well as remedial training. This role ensures drivers are operating equipment safely, professionally, and in compliance with Titanium’s policies, industry regulations, legislation and best practices. Responsibilities include, delivering of in class, in-cab and yard-based instruction and assessing driver on road performance. This will also create, organize and present driver training material.
Key Accountabilities
- Deliver hands-on training for new hires, including in-cab coaching, defensive driving techniques, hours‑of‑service compliance, and Titanium operational procedures.
- Ensure all training activities comply with Titanium policies, MTO/DOT regulations, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with Safety, Operations, and Recruiting teams to support onboarding and continuous driver improvement.
- Conduct yard evaluations, inspections, and equipment walkarounds with trainees.
- Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and documentation in shared databases.
- Monitor and assess driver performance during training, documenting observations and progress.
- Develop or source ongoing driver development for refresher training, corrective training or general professional development
- Manage formal bi-annual safety meetings, audits, and incident reviews as required.
- Conduct road tests for new driver candidates and provide recommendations on skill level and suitability.
Position Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of verifiable AZ driving experience required.
- Valid AZ license.
- Clean driver’s abstract and CVOR preferred.
- Prior experience in driver training, coaching, or safety instruction considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of MTO/DOT regulations, Hours-of-Service, ELD use, and transportation safety standards.
- Knowledge of Isaac ELD systems and Carriers Edge considered an asset.
- Cross border experience and knowledge considered an asset.
- High school diploma required, additional safety or training certifications an asset.
- Proficient communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite an asset
- Knowledge and comfort using PowerPoint or Canva for presentations is an asset
