YOUR DAY TO DAY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cycle Counter to support inventory accuracy and operational efficiency within our warehouse environment. The successful candidate will perform daily cycle counts using ERP reports, investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies, support root cause analysis, and process approved adjustments while maintaining accurate documentation. In addition to ensuring alignment between physical inventory and system records, the Cycle Counter will contribute to excess and obsolete reporting, assist with material movement and receiving activities, promote inventory control best practices across departments, and actively participate in safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR/TO:
- Setup and perform daily cycle counts using manually generated lists or ERP system reports. Execute counts based on ABC inventory classification.
- Analyze and investigate discrepancies between physical counts and system inventory records.
- Identify root causes of variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Process inventory adjustments with proper approvals and maintain accurate backup documentation.
- Educate shop personnel on best practices for inventory control to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Recommend and support process improvements related to inventory accuracy and operational workflow.
- Support disposition and documentation of non-conforming material.
- Reconcile inventory reports by comparing ERP data with physical counts, and flag inconsistencies.
- Generate and maintain monthly Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory reports; identify and segregate slow-moving or nonperforming stock.
- Assist with bin location management and inventory organization within the warehouse.
- Participate actively in all safety, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide support for material movement, including staging, transporting, and organizing inventory across departments.
- Assist in receiving activities, including unloading, inspection, and system entry of inbound materials.
- Perform additional material handling tasks such as packing, labeling, and kitting, as needed.
- Execute other duties, projects, or reports as assigned by the warehouse team lead.
YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:
- Strong communication skills
- Experience working in a manufacturing/warehousing environment
- 1-3 years experience in an inventory or material handler position
- Experience with inventory management an asset
- Microsoft Office experience: Excel preferred.
- Capable of multi-tasking, and working on your feet daily
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Self-motivated person able to work under pressure and autonomously
- Team player with ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong organization skills
- Strong Computer Skills
- Capable of handling heavy packages if required and proficient in operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment.
