The Shift Supervisor reports directly to the Senior Manager of Emergency Services and provides on shift leadership in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Centre.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities
•interacts with the clients in a caring, non-judgmental manner
•supervises and trains team members in their functional duties
•reports to the Senior Manager on problems arising with team functioning and occurrences of a serious nature involving clients or team members
•is responsible for collaborating with the nurse regarding medical needs of clients
•is responsible for ensuring the lock-up of client money and valuables
• ensures that records on status of detox clients are complete and up to date
•coordinates with the Addictions Worker to ensure that requests for treatment are addressed
•supervises disinfectants, clean-up and hygienic procedures and assists with implementation of these procedures as required
•participates in general staff meetings and Supervisor's meetings
•compiles daily statistics
•provides written evaluation of staff members as required
•conducts shift exchange meetings with oncoming staff
•records daily attendance of team members
•delegates responsibilities to Support Worker IIs
•any other related task or responsibility assigned by the Senior Manager or Assistant Manager
Position Qualifications
•Willing to work within the team concept of leadership
•Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of addictions
•Demonstrated level of literacy and communication skills sufficient for job responsibilities
•Diploma or Degree in the human services field preferred
•First Aid/CPR/AED Training
•Current Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check
Hours of work: 6 Month Contract -Night Shift work. 8-12 Hours, 4 on 4 off, 7:45 pm-8:15 am
(Friday short day 11:45 pm-8:15am, Some Weekends)
