Deputy Corporate Manager
Join Our Team!
The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality (NRRM) is looking for a collaborative and organized leader to join our Corporate Services team as Deputy Corporate Manager. If you are passionate about local government and enjoy a role where no two days are the same, we’d love to meet you!
The Opportunity
As the Deputy Corporate Manager, you will be a key player in keeping our municipality running smoothly. Working closely with the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer/Corporate Manager, Mayor, and Regional Council, you’ll help manage legislative affairs, oversee front-counter services, and lead a dedicated team. This is a full-time, management position that offers the chance to lead meaningful projects—from modernizing the bylaws and policies that shape our community to being part of the public’s first point of contact with the Municipality.
What You’ll Do
- Lead & Mentor: Supervise and support our front-line Corporate Services staff, helping them grow and succeed.
- Council Support: Coordinate agendas, take accurate minutes, and ensure the community has access to the records they need.
- Legislative Expert: Research and draft bylaws, policies, and contracts, ensuring everything aligns with provincial legislation.
- Community Connector: Be the face of the municipality, assisting the public and managing special events and conferences.
- Statutory Officer: Step in for the Corporate Manager when needed to certify documents, administer oaths, and keep the corporate seal safe.
What You Bring
- Education: A degree or diploma in Public Sector/Local Government, Business Administration, or a related field (or a great mix of training and experience!).
- Experience: At least two years in a supervisory role, ideally within a political or governmental environment.
- Skills: You have a sharp eye for detail (proofreading is second nature!), a knack for handling complex workloads, and a deep understanding of the Local Government Act.
- Drive: You hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and are ready to work at least 40 hours a week in a dynamic office setting.
Why NRRM?
You’ll be joining a team that values independence and initiative. This role offers significant professional responsibility and the chance to make a tangible impact on our regional operations and reputation.
