Who you are
You are a detail-oriented and collaborative engineering project management professional who thrives in a dynamic, multi-faceted environment and is motivated by making a positive impact in our community. You bring a strong understanding of the complexities of local government and a shared commitment to delivering a high-quality service to the City’s major infrastructure projects. With experience leading complex capital projects, you confidently guide all phases of delivery—from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and closeout—while engaging respectfully and proactively with diverse stakeholders, partners, and members of the City team. You approach your work with integrity, accountability, and transparency, excel at managing budgets, schedules, contracts, and risk, and take pride in ensuring projects meet legislative, regulatory, and industry standards. Driven by teamwork and continuous improvement, you are inspired by contributing to safe, resilient, and well-delivered infrastructure that serves everyone.
What you’ll bring
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, with current registration or eligibility for registration with the Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC). P.Eng. designation is considered an asset.
- Certificate or designation in project, contract, or construction management—such as Project Management Professional (PMP) is considered an asset.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience managing civil engineering or infrastructure projects, preferably within a municipal or public-sector environment.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex capital infrastructure projects—such as roads, bridges, and water and wastewater systems—through all phases of the project lifecycle, from planning and design through construction, commissioning, and close-out.
- Experience beyond seven (7) years, particularly with large-scale or multi-stakeholder projects, is considered an asset.
