Call the Guy Handyman & Renovations Ltd. is seeking a Renovation Carpenter for our contracts in Whistler and Pemberton, BC. It’s a full-time (minimum of 32 hours per week and maximum of 40 hours per week), permanent position, $37.00/hour paid on a bi-weekly basis. Overtime compensation is based on the current BC Employment Standards Act (1.5 times the regular wage paid if the weekly hours exceed 40 hours). Two weeks of paid vacation each year.

Job duties:
• Perform high-quality carpentry and renovation work, including installing baseboards, casings, doors, and trim in uneven or out-of-plumb conditions while maintaining clean reveals and tight joints.
• Independently install kitchen cabinetry, including scribing fillers, setting cabinets, installing trim, and completing finishing details to match existing walls, floors, and ceilings.
• Repair and replace damaged wood structures such as decks, fences, stairs, and drywall framing.
• Measure, cut, and assemble materials according to project specifications and client requirements.
• Install and repair interior fixtures, including shelving, countertops, and built-in furniture.
• Conduct small renovation and remodeling tasks, such as kitchen and bathroom updates.
• Inspect structures and identify necessary repairs or maintenance work.
• Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation on job sites.
• Ensure cleanup and disposal of materials to maintain a safe and tidy work environment throughout the renovation.
Requirements:
• Completed secondary education;
• Must have at least 2 years of proven experience as a Carpenter with residential renovations;
• Must have own basic carpentry tools.
• Ability to prepare basic sketches or drawings for proposed installations, such as shelving, cabinetry, or similar custom work, is considered an asset.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Must be able to work independently from a scope of work, sketch, or verbal/site instructions without requiring constant supervision.
• Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying sheet goods, doors, trim bundles, cabinetry components, and tools, and able to work on their feet for full shifts.
• Efficient with hand and power tools
• Must be able to speak, read and write in English;
• Must have an interpersonal skill that allows communicating effectively with clients and other workers, be flexible, team player, organized.
