About You / What We Are Looking For
The City of Coquitlam is currently recruiting for 1 full-time Parks Partner Program Supervisor as well as one temporary full-time Parks Partner Program Supervisor to join our fantastic team of professionals in the Parks and Capital Projects Department. Please note that this is a unionized position.
Reporting to the Parks Urban Forestry Manager, your responsibilities will include administrative, supervisory and planning work related to managing and developing community engagement and volunteer management programs, initiatives and projects in parks with parks operations staff and the community, An employee of this class recommends implementation strategies related to parks community engagement initiatives; develops and oversees the implementation of volunteer management procedures and work plans; and assists a superior in prioritizing initiatives and programs related to parks engagement activities. An employee of this class also promotes good working relationships with staff from all park operational teams and supervises a group of subordinates engaged in specialized park work that is focused on volunteer management and community engagement. . A considerable amount of independent judgement and action are exercised within the role. The ideal candidate should have obtained university graduation in urban forestry, recreation and leisure, sports, leadership or a related discipline plus sound related experience, including supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Thorough knowledge of the objectives, principles and practices of parks community engagement initiatives, the work of park operational teams, as well as considerable knowledge of work plans, policies and strategies and park related concerns and activities of the community is expected. A driver’s license for the province of BC is also required.
Please note that this position has a non-standard work week schedule, and the majority of shifts will be afternoons and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have obtained university graduation in urban forestry, recreation and leisure, sports, leadership or a related discipline plus sound related experience, including supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A driver’s license for the province of BC is also required.

This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $42.16 - $49.76. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
