About the Role
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Manager, Payroll, Benefits & HRIS (Manager) provides leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for payroll, benefits administration, and the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). The Manager is responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, compliant, and confidential delivery of payroll and benefits services while supporting organizational objectives through effective systems, internal controls, and service excellence.
The role plays a critical function in financial reconciliation, payroll system development, labour relations support, and the design and maintenance of internal controls. The Manager leads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and client experience while fostering a collaborative, service-oriented workplace culture.
This role is well suited to an experienced payroll professional with strong leadership capability and a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and service excellence in a complex organizational environment. The position typically requires a university degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, along with completion of a recognized professional payroll manager designation accredited by the National Payroll Institute. Considerable progressive experience managing payroll, benefits, and HRIS operations is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. A satisfactory Police Information Check is required and must be maintained.
The salary for this position is $139,000 to $153,000 supplemented by a comprehensive compensation and benefits plan.
