This position works in the Sports Admin & Programs. This is clerical and supervisory work in evaluating, allocating, coordinating and supervising the processing of booking requests for a variety of municipal facilities. An incumbent of this class reviews, coordinates, and processes the more complex requests for facility booking and allocation; supervises, assigns and reviews the work of Booking Clerks engaged in processing requests; assesses the suitability of rental spaces to meet client requirements; determines fee, insurance and licence requirements; processes payments, issues refunds, and follows up on unpaid invoices; coordinates with parks, technical, custodial and other staff on the set up of spaces; serves as a liaison with internal and external contacts on matters related to the work, and deals with problems and complaints which arise; and participates in the development of business practices, policies and procedures related to the work. Considerable independent judgement and action are exercised in the performance of assigned duties within the framework of established guidelines. Work is reviewed for effectiveness and compliance with established procedures and standards. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include completion of Grade 12 supplemented by relevant post-secondary courses plus considerable related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of the facilities and amenities available for rent; of client requirements in relation to the facilities booked. Ability to coordinate and evaluate booking requests, and to assess the impact of filming, event and other activities on surrounding spaces; to supervise, assign, and review the work of subordinates engaged in processing facility booking requests; to participate in the development of business practices, policies and procedures related to the work; process a variety of enquiries and complaints and to explain applicable practices, policies and procedures. Skill in the operation of computer systems, applications and equipment related to work.
This is a Temporary Full Time position until December 31, 2026.
Schedule: 70 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM (Mutual Agreement between 7:00 am – 8:00 pm)
