Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet guests at the door in a prompt and friendly manner. Provide a warm and inviting atmosphere from the time of arrival.
- Escort guests to their tables in a timely manner, ensuring that tables are properly set and ready for service.
- Answer any questions guests may have about the menu, restaurant policies, or wait times. Provide accurate information and direct them to the appropriate team members as needed.
- Answer text messages, receive and record reservations accurately in a pleasant and attentive manner.
- Maintain an organized waitlist during peak hours and ensure guests are informed of wait times. Keep guests updated and manage seating assignments based on availability.
- Coordinate with servers and management to ensure smooth seating transitions.
- Communicate special requests or celebratory occasions to the servers.
- Maintain cleanliness of front desk area, restocking supplies and ensuring menus are clean and organized.
- Monitor and observe guests dining experience, ensuring guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
- Thank guests for their visit as they exit the restaurant and invite them to return.
- Address any guest issues or concerns politely and promptly. Escalate unresolved issues to the manager or supervisor as needed.
- Be ready and willing to provide support as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the manager in charge.
- Assist in arranging transportation for guests if required.
- Execute ad-hoc tasks are required.
Qualifications
- Prior work experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred but not required.
- Experience with the Open Table program is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks efficiently, especially during busy times.
- Strong customer service skills with a positive, friendly attitude.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve guest concerns promptly.
- Proficient in using reservation systems, phone systems, and basic computer applications.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and perform light physical tasks such as lifting menus, cleaning, and arranging seating.
- Valid Liquor Service Certification obtained within 30 days of starting.
- Must be over 18 as alcohol service and open scheduling availability is a requirement.
