Director of Construction
Lead construction delivery in one of Canada’s most competitive growth markets.
Deveraux Group of Companies is one of Canada’s leading real estate development, construction, and property management companies, recognized for creating high quality, purpose built rental communities across Western Canada. With a strong integrated operating model, a growing portfolio, and a reputation for disciplined execution, Deveraux is now preparing for meaningful expansion into Ontario.
This is a rare opportunity to join Deveraux at a pivotal stage of growth. As Director of Construction, you will serve as the organization’s senior construction presence in Toronto and play a foundational role in establishing Deveraux’s Ontario construction platform.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Construction, and working with close visibility to the executive leadership team, the Director will provide owner side leadership and oversight across development and construction activity in the Greater Toronto Area. Initially operating within partnership and joint venture environments, this role will be central to strengthening project controls, supporting execution confidence, and ensuring Deveraux’s standards, systems, and expectations are effectively embedded in local projects.
The Director will provide informed oversight across pre construction and delivery, including budgeting, cost tracking, procurement, scheduling, reporting, quality, risk management, and stakeholder coordination. As Deveraux continues to scale its Ontario presence, the Director will also help shape the future local construction function, including identifying talent, building relationships, and supporting the gradual development of a trusted GTA based team.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished construction leader with significant experience in high rise and/or multi residential construction. You bring strong technical knowledge, commercial judgment, and the credibility to work effectively with sophisticated partners, consultants, contractors, municipalities, lenders, investors, and internal decision makers. You understand how to balance collaboration with accountability and are comfortable operating in complex, fast moving environments where clarity, discipline, and sound judgment matter.
This role will suit a leader who is entrepreneurial, hands on, and motivated by the opportunity to help build something significant. A strong understanding of the GTA construction market, including its consultant, contractor, municipal, and trade landscape, will be considered a significant asset.
Candidates should bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in construction projects exceeding $30 million, with demonstrated experience leading or overseeing projects of meaningful scale and complexity. A degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field is preferred, although an equivalent combination of directly relevant experience will be considered. A PMP or other relevant professional designation would be an asset.
