Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced Utility Operator to join our Civil Division asap. This position plays a key role in supporting the success of our underground utility installation and civil infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, reliable, and skilled in operating various pieces of heavy equipment in a range of civil construction environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators, backhoes, skid steers, dozers, and other utility construction equipment
- Follow site plans, utility locates, and project specifications with precision.
- Perform trenching, expose existing utilities, and complete backfilling and compaction work as required.
- Perform daily equipment inspections, reporting any maintenance needs or issues.
- Work closely with site supervisors and crew members to meet project timelines.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a utility operator in civil construction or underground utility installation required.
- GPS experience would be an asset (Topcon or Trimble).
- Valid drivers license
- Strong understanding of underground utilities, trenching practices, and safe digging techniques.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices in civil construction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and shift rotations as required.
