We are seeking a Structural Engineer, P. Eng, to join our Team. We are an established structural engineering firm specializing in residential, light commercial and farm buildings. We also specialize in components such as engineered wood systems, trusses, beams, greenhouses, awnings, aluminum guard rails, overhead doors and gates. Over the past 30 years we have established a strong, well-respected reputation in British Columbia and Alberta.
Job Description:
- Work with technical and office staff on preparation of drawings and documents.
- Perform structural analysis and design on wood frames.
- Prepare reports and other technical documents as required by the client.
- Communicate with clients and contractors.
- Prepare, advise and stamp structural documents and drawings for a variety of new and retrofit projects.
- Provide structural engineering support during construction, attend site meetings and carry out occasional field reviews.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be proficient and experienced with wood framed construction P. Eng. Designation with seal in BC required and other provinces an asset.
- A minimum of 2 + years' experience.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience working on residential single-family homes.
- Experience with wood, steel and concrete.
- Experience with Autocad Software an asset.
- Experience with Woodworks Software and basic computer skills.
- Proficient in B.C. Building code.
- Good attitude and team player.
- Registered Professional (P. Eng.) in good standing with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) and Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), with the ability to apply valid professional seal.
- A valid BC driver's license.
