Auxiliary Volunteer Resources Assistant. This short-term opportunity is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting volunteer programs and community engagement.
About the RoleIn this role, you will play a key part in supporting the coordination and administration of the Volunteer Services program. You will contribute to building a strong and effective volunteer team by ensuring smooth onboarding, training, and scheduling processes, while helping develop resources to support program success.
Key Responsibilities- Gather and compile information to support the creation of a Volunteer Host manual
- Support onboarding and training processes for volunteer hosts
- Complete administrative and clerical tasks related to volunteer coordination
- Schedule and assign volunteer hosts to ensure all roles and placements are fully covered
- Maintain accurate records and support communication with volunteers
- Respond to volunteer inquiries in a timely and professional manner
About You
You are:
- Highly organized and attentive to detail
- An excellent written communicator
- Responsive, reliable, and proactive in supporting volunteer needs
- Skilled at scheduling and coordinating multiple priorities
Qualifications and Requirements
- Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by sound related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Relevant experience in administrative or clerical work, including supervisory experience
- Strong working knowledge of PerfectMind, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Preferred experience working with volunteers or having performed volunteering work.
A valid Class 5 BC driver’s license and access to a vehicle for NVRC business.
All employees will be available to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position prior to any appointment.
HOURS: This is a unionized auxiliary position involving shift work including days, evenings, and weekends for 20-35 hours per week for approximately 4 months.
RATE OF PAY: The pay for this unionized auxiliary position starts at step 1, $26.18 and ranges up to $30.70 per hour, plus 12% in lieu of benefits.
