The West Vancouver Cultural Services Department is seeking a passionate, creative and detail-oriented person to assist with exhibition development, arts education programming, and other activities supporting the Harmony Arts Festival. Reporting to the Arts & Culture Program Coordinator, this position will assist with:
- Supporting communication with volunteers working for Harmony Arts Festival.
- Supporting Festival functions such as; sales, answering calls, emails and finding information for the public and artists.
- Supporting exhibition development, sourcing content from artists and compiling gallery information such as images, artist information, pricelists and more.
- Supporting exhibition installation and take-down.
- Assisting in organization of arts education programming for Harmony Arts Festival.
- Supporting event programming for Harmony Arts Festival as needed.
- and other related duties as required.
The preferred candidate will have: a passion for the visual arts with some fine arts/art history work experience and post-secondary education; an interest in assisting with festival logistics; be comfortable working independently as well as with a team; and has a strong interest in contributing to the Harmony Arts Festival in West Vancouver.
The successful candidate will be: an energetic self-starter, responsible, organized, punctual; professional; a confident writer; proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Publisher and Power Point), social media platforms; responsible and creative.
Candidates must also meet the following Canada Summer Jobs requirements: 30 years of age or under at the start of employment; a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or recognized Refugee in Canada; hold a valid Social Insurance Number; and be legally entitled to work in Canada. Applicants over the age of 30 may be considered but hiring is grant-dependent.
The successful candidate will be required to supply an acceptable Police Information Check and a copy of their credentials. Please note applications not including a cover letter will not be considered.

Summer – Casual
Please note: if Canada Summer Jobs funding for this position is approved, membership in the WVMEA will be mandatory.
Hours of Work:
Hours of work and shifts may vary depending upon operational requirements. The successful candidate must have flexibility and be available evenings and weekends
Rate of Pay:
$21.00 per hour plus 4% in lieu of benefits
