Aux Operations Labourer
Turn your love of the outdoors and physical work into an exciting job opportunity all while making a difference in your community. The City of Abbotsford’s Operations Department is in search of self-motivated, enthusiastic individuals to join their dynamic team as Operations Labourers.
The Operations Labourer supports a variety of divisions in the Operations Department, including but not limited to Parks, Roads, Facilities, Water, and Sewer. The incumbent is responsible for assisting with a wide range of general construction, maintenance and custodial tasks, as well as performing mowing, line trimming, pruning and weed-removal tasks. The duties may involve challenging working conditions and changes of assignment with minimal notice based on operational needs. You thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to take initiative to get the job done. You must be able to work effectively in a team setting and individually.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Completion of Grade 10
- One years’ experience in general construction or maintenance work and in the operation of related tools, equipment and machinery, or demonstrated equivalent of training and relevant experience
- Valid BC Driver’s Licence with a safe driving record

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is $31.19, plus an additional 12.4% in lieu of all benefits including vacation and Statutory Holiday pay.
