
Park Attendant - Evening/Weekend Garbage and Litter Collection
(Temporary, Full-Time)

The West Vancouver Parks Department is accepting applications for temporary full-time Park Attendants to work with the garbage and litter collection team. The primary duty of this position will be emptying garbage, collecting litter and sorting recycling in District Parks. The successful candidate will be required to work weekends.
The work for this position is considered manual work, requiring physical effort and stamina. The successful candidates may also be required to assist staff with: park construction; maintaining playgrounds, sports fields, and grass areas; horticulture; cemetery duties; and other related duties as operationally required.
The successful candidate must have:
- General knowledge concerning safe use of landscape maintenance equipment and tools;
- Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to permit the performance of manual outdoor work in all types of weather;
- The ability to interact with the public in a courteous and effective manner;
- An aptitude/interest in Parks operations;
- Experience with operating trucks will be an asset and,
- Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver’s License for the Province of BC.
The successful candidate will be required to supply an acceptable police information check and a copy of their credentials.

Position Status:
Union (WVMEA) – Temporary, Full-Time
Hours of Work:
40 hours per week. This position will work weekends on a rotation.
Starting Rate of Pay:
$30.88 per hour (2025 rate) plus 14% in lieu of benefits
This position has a pay structure with three steps increase after certain hours.
