Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the maintenance team, including coaching, development, and performance management
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability
- Develop and manage maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and support production
- Monitor equipment performance, analyze trends, and implement corrective actions
- Lead root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions to recurring issues
- Manage CMMS systems, work orders, and maintenance records
- Oversee spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets, including labour, materials, and contractors
- Support and lead capital projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards
- Promote and enforce a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with provincial legislation
- Support regulatory and quality compliance (e.g., food safety, environmental standards)
- Collaborate with production, quality, environmental, and safety teams to support plant performance
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and operational planning
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Relevant trade certification (e.g., Millwright, Electrician, Pipefitter) strongly preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, reliability practices, and CMMS platforms
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g., food processing, industrial manufacturing) is an asset
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance standards
- Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience managing budgets and capital projects is an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance software systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
