Human Resources Advisor
About the Opportunity
Based out of the beautiful Okanagan in Kelowna, BC, the Regional District of Central Okanagan has an exciting opportunity to join our team for an 18-month term full-time Human Resources Advisor position, due to a planned staff leave.
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, and as a valued member of a progressive human resources team, the Human Resources Advisor will provide comprehensive advisory services on recruitment, onboarding, salary administration, training and development and HRIS support.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing, coordinating and participating in recruitment, onboarding and orientation plans;
- Maintaining up to date job descriptions and facilitating job reviews, evaluation, classification and compensation analysis;
- Organizing staff training and ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and corporate objectives;
- Providing HR advice and administration for staff training and development;
- Providing HRIS developing, maintaining and distributing HR reports, including analyzing data and providing data informed recommendations;
- Preparing HR documentation, including employment contracts and maintaining; and accurate records in the HRIS and personnel files, in compliance with applicable collective agreement contracts and legislation.
About You
You will have a degree in human resources, business administration or related field. Additionally, a minimum of four years’ progressively responsible human resources generalist experience. A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation and experience working in a unionized environment is considered an asset!
You treat data integrity, sound process, and compliance as non‑negotiables. You’re excited about turning complex information into clear insights, managing projects that drive meaningful change, and building practical, compliant solutions that stand up to scrutiny. With strong communication and influence skills, you’re comfortable influencing decisions and gaining buy‑in, all while staying organized, agile, and focused in a fast‑paced environment.
About the Benefits
- You will receive a competitive salary of $83,533(min) - $92,803 (mid) - $102,073 (max). The RDCO’s compensation philosophy is to pay in the middle of the range for a fully qualified candidate.
