Human Resources and Safety Advisor
About the OpportunityBased out of the beautiful Okanagan in
Kelowna, BC, the Regional District of Central Okanagan has an exciting opportunity to join our team in a new
continuous full-time Human Resources and Safety Advisor position.
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, and as a valued member of a progressive human resources team, the Human Resources and Safety Advisor will provide comprehensive advisory services on human resources and safety related matters, including occupational health and safety, disability management, employee and labour relations, performance management and HR program implementation.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing advice and supporting the manager in the delivery of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) program;
- Coordinating and maintaining OHS documentation in accordance with the collective agreement, policies, procedures and legislative requirements;
- Acting as the initial disability case manager and facilitating required documentation for WorkSafeBC and short and long-term disability cases;
- Preparing and providing advice on return-to-work accommodation plans;
- Providing advice on employee and labour relations matters; and
- Conducting research and analysis, including environmental scans and liaising with external partners.
About You
You will have a degree in human resources, business administration or related field. Additionally, a minimum of four years’ progressively responsible human resources generalist experience including a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation. Professional experience with health and safety in a unionized environment is considered an asset!

About the Benefits
- You will receive a competitive salary of $92,700 (min) - $103,000 (mid) - $113,300 (max). The RDCO’s compensation philosophy is to pay in the middle of the range for a fully qualified candidate.
