Environmental Technician II
We are looking for an Environmental Technician II to perform landfill gas management duties at the Glenmore Landfill. Your responsibilities include:
- Oversee monitoring, balancing and tuning LFG wellheads and perimeter wells for regulatory compliance and to meet spec for Fortis Gas Biogas Plant
- Daily operation of flare and landfill gas systems
- Regular Summa Canister landfill gas sampling at Flare Station
- Requisitioning, building, installing, replacing, repairing and maintaining Landfill Gas Wellheads, wellfields and flare components
- Oversee Surface Emissions Monitoring activities and data
- Maintain and coordinate the maintenance of SCADA and Emergency after-hour callout systems
- Managing inspections of the flare
- Review and manage LFG field data, lab results and trends
- Report on landfill gas system and collection efficiency for annual report
- Coordinates and performs leachate recirculation events and manage data
The successful candidate will have completed a Diploma in Environmental Sciences or related field and have experience with flare and landfill gas systems. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Participation in an after-hours standby rotation is required.
