Pay: $47.88 per hour + 6.25% deferred compensation on the hours worked (which can be used as either extra compensation or time off)

Job Overview
MGR Workforce is hiring an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join a wastewater treatment operations team supporting critical infrastructure and industrial equipment. This role is ideal for a skilled trades professional with strong troubleshooting ability, mechanical aptitude, and experience maintaining heavy industrial equipment in a safety-focused environment.
Responsibilities
Install, align, maintain, repair, and overhaul a wide range of mechanical equipment and machinery
Troubleshoot and service large pumps, compressors, blowers, conveyors, valves, turbines, heat exchangers, grinders barminutors, and related systems
Perform maintenance on diesel and gas engines, electric generating units, and internal combustion equipment
Support maintenance and repair of piping systems, mechanical drives, and rotating equipment
Assist with machine fitting, minor welding, pipefitting, and layout work
Diagnose equipment issues and respond to operational maintenance requests
Maintain accurate service records and support preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Train and support junior mechanics as needed
Ensure work is completed in compliance with safety procedures and regulatory requirements
Assist with parts inventory and materials planning
Qualifications
Trades Qualification Certificate as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright
MUST HAVE a minimum 4 years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, repair, and overhaul
Strong knowledge of pumps, engines, compressors, and rotating equipment
Experience using hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, precision measuring tools, and interpreting blueprints
Proficient in using Torque wrenches and gas cutting torches
Experience with CMMS systems and basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel)
Good Knowledge of GVRD's safety policies, procedures and WCB regulations
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field
Valid BC Driver's License
Must provide a reliable set of hand tools
Physically able to perform the duties of the role
