Manager of Parks and Facilities
EXEMPT – Regular Full-Time – Salary Range $109,919 to $120,313
THE LOCATION
Surrounded by a beautiful mountain landscape in south-eastern British Columbia, the City of Kimberley is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise. THE POSITION
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join the Kimberley team. This is a key leadership position that provides for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of all City recreational facilities, municipal buildings, parks, and green spaces. This role is critical to building a strong, accountable, and service-oriented team culture.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Operations, the Manager of Parks and Facilities oversees preventative maintenance programs, facility programming and bookings, asset management and lifecycle planning, emergency preparedness, and the delivery of small- to medium-scale construction and renovation projects. Other responsibilities include fostering positive labour relations through the provision of direct strategic and day-to-day leadership to approximately 15 full-time and 4 part-time employees, as well as a complement of casual and seasonal staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
Our ideal candidate will have post-secondary education in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field, along with at least 3-years of demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a municipal facilities environment. They will also have a proven ability to lead projects, solve complex operational issues, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced public sector setting. A Refrigeration Safety Awareness Certificate, Power Engineers Certificate with Refrigeration Endorsement or Refrigeration Operator Certificate, and experience managing facilities with commercial HVAC/building management systems, refrigeration, and aquatic systems are also considered assets.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The City of Kimberley is currently undertaking an organizational review of the Parks and Facilities Department. The successful candidate will play an active leadership role in supporting the review process and contributing to the development and implementation of transition and change-management strategies. As a result, the scope and responsibilities of this position may evolve to align with future organizational needs.
