About the Role
We're seeking a Commercial Development Manager to lead the growth of our commercial division. You'll own the commercial pipeline: identifying high-value opportunities, forging relationships with architects, designers, builders, developers, and property owners, and guiding projects from initial concept and scoping through quoting, design alignment, and seamless handoff to production. This is a high-impact, hybrid role that combines strategic business development, technical oversight, and project coordination, perfect if you love building relationships, shaping custom solutions, and driving measurable revenue growth.
What Youll Do
- Develop and manage a strong commercial project pipeline, targeting architects, designers, builders, developers, and multi-unit/commercial clients.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships to uncover new opportunities and expand Suncoast's market presence.
- Lead early client conversations, translate needs into clear project scopes, and frame requirements accurately.
- Review design concepts, drawings, and technical details at a high level to ensure feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with our standards.
- Oversee quoting, proposals, timelines, permitting coordination, and cross-team alignment (drafting, engineering, production).
- Partner with internal leaders (sales, design, engineering, production) for smooth transitions from concept to build.
- Represent Suncoast at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to strengthen our commercial brand.
- Track pipeline health, project status, and revenue forecasts; report directly to leadership on key metrics.
What Youll Bring (Required)
- 5+ years of experience in commercial business development, technical sales, project development, or coordination in construction, architectural/building products, engineered materials, outdoor structures, or related manufacturing/construction fields.
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, renderings, dimensions, materials, and technical documents.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with comfort leading client discussions on early design and scoping.
- Excellent organizational skills to juggle multiple projects at varying stages.
- Practical, solutions-oriented mindset for navigating commercial challenges and risks.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and project management tools is a strong asset.
- Diploma or degree in Business, Construction Technology, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.

- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel 1525% for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
