The Supervisor, Camp Facilities & Maintenanceis responsible for providing daily leadership while actively working alongside the facility and grounds team. This role is focused on maintaining a safe, welcoming, and high-quality environment for all campers and participants, by ensuring all facilities, equipment, and grounds are well maintained and repairs are completed promptly. This role builds strong relationships and works collaboratively with all YMCA staff and partners. This role is primarily based at our St. Clements Camp KiWaY location and also provides onsite support to maintenance staff and projects at Camp Belwood.
What will you do… - Provide effective daily leadership and support to the facilities and grounds team, fostering accountability, strong teamwork, and respectful, inclusive communication aligned with YMCA values.
- As a hands-on leader, perform and oversee facility maintenance and repairs of all facility areas, managing pre-approved projects.
- Develop, implement and ensure adherence of efficient protocols, checklists, and procedures to ensure compliance with Ministry, Public Health, and OCA standards regarding facility and maintenance.
- Perform routine upkeep and proactive preventative maintenance to support safe, reliable, and well‑maintained facilities.
- Oversee the maintenance, safe use, and inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with YMCA staff and key stakeholders.
- Act as the primary on-site contact for contractors involved in capital or special projects when required.
- Coordinate and implement both scheduled and ad hoc refurbishment projects within approved budget limits.
- Supervise all repairs and ongoing maintenance operations to ensure quality work, safety and regulatory compliance.
- Stay informed about relevant site regulations, legislation, and industry standards relevant to facilities, health, and safety.
- Provide on-call support for facility-related issues and emergencies.
- Communicate work progress, priorities, and facility‑related updates proactively to leaders.

- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment.
- Comfort working outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Completion of a college diploma, certification of qualification, or equivalent experience.
- 3–4 years of supervisory experience in property management, facility operations, or related fields.
- Proven administrative skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- An acceptable Police Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Screening).
This role requires regular travel across the region, which may not always be easily accessible through public transit. The employee must be able to arrange their transportation to these sites. A valid G driver’s license and full-time vehicle access are strongly recommended. |
