We are currently seeking a talented HR Advisor to work as part of our Labour Relations team. If you have a passion for making a difference in your workplace, this may be the role for you!
As the HR Advisor – Labour Relations, you will play a key role in fostering a respectful, collaborative, and solutions‑focused workplace at the City. In this role, you will support a wide range of labour relations activities, including the fair and timely management of grievances, investigations, and complaints, while responding to internal and external inquiries with professionalism and care.
You will be a trusted advisor to leaders and supervisors, providing day‑to‑day guidance and practical advice, and supporting consistent and thoughtful interpretation and application of collective agreements and related letters of understanding. Working closely with a dedicated labour relations team and legal counsel, you will contribute to litigation matters and complex workforce issues.

You will help identify and address labour relations issues proactively, supporting positive outcomes and contributing to a constructive and respectful union‑management environment that reflects the City’s commitment to its people and community.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related degree, two to three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in working in a unionized environment is required. Ability to identify and escalate complex and critical matters to the Manager’s attention, and act as a subject matter expert on any internal or external team projects requiring support of the labour relations team.
This is a Temporary Full-Time opportunity until March 2028.
